JOLED向三星电子等人提起专利侵权诉讼。
JOLED：
2020年6月22日（米国テキサス州現地時間）、米国テキサス州西部地区連邦地方裁判所に、
- サムスン電子（Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.、本社：韓国京畿道水原市）、
- サムスンディスプレイ（Samsung Display Co., Ltd.、本社：韓国忠清南道牙山市）、
- サムスン電子アメリカ（Samsung Electronics America, Inc.、本社：NJ州リッジフィールド・パーク）、
特許権侵害に対し、損害賠償等を請求する訴訟提起を行いました。
並行してドイツ マンハイム地方裁判所でも、
サムスン電子およびドイツにおける現地法人に対し、
特許権侵害差止等を請求する訴訟を提起しました。
米国テキサス州西部地区連邦地方裁判所における本訴訟
- サムスン電子、
- サムスンディスプレイ、
- サムスン電子の米国における現地法人が、
米国内において、
- サムスンギャラクシーブランドの
- スマー製品を、当社の許諾を受けずに、
- 使用、販売、そして/または販売依頼した行為、
- そして/または米国へ輸入した行為が、
JOLEDの保有する特許権の侵害に該るとして、損害賠償等を請求するものです。
JOLED：

JOLED Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit against Samsung Electronics et al.
JOLED filed a complaint seeking remedies such as damages and an accounting from
- Samsung Electronics (Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., headquartered in Suwon-City, Gyenggi-Do, Republic of Korea),
- Samsung Display (Samsung Display Co., Ltd., headquartered in Asan-City, Chungcheongnam-Do, Republic of Korea), and
- Samsung Electronics America (Samsung Electronics America, Inc., headquartered in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, U.S.A.)
for patent infringement in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, on June 22nd, 2020 (CDT).
In parallel, JOLED has also filed a similar complaint seeking remedies such as an injunction for patent infringement against
Samsung Electronics and its local subsidiary in Germany in the District Court of Mannheim, Federal Republic of Germany.
The current action filed in the Western District of Texas against Samsung Electronics,
Samsung Display, and Samsung Electronics’ local subsidiary in the United States of America
- seeks remedies such as damages and an accounting based on infringement of patent rights held by JOLED
- through the acts of using, selling, and/or offering to sell Galaxy branded smart phones within the U S,
- and/or importing Samsung Galaxy branded smart phones into the United States without taking a license.
Since its inception in 2015 as a combination of the OLED display development divisions of Sony Corporation and Panasonic Corporation,
- JOLED has been carrying out research and development of OLED displays and has started shipping of its products in 2017.
- JOLED holds about 4000 registered and pending patents related to OLED displays worldwide.
- JOLED’s intellectual property rights including patents areimportant management resources.
- In addition, JOLED has launched technology licensing business by leveraging patents as one of its strategic business arms.
- JOLED respects the intellectual property rights of third parties and expects third parties to respect JOLED’s intellectual property rights.
