On June 23, 2022, it announced that it had joined the FAA / OEM Review Panel.
FAA / OEM Review Panel:
Sustainable Aviation Fuel, an international organization that supports safety evaluation and standardization of SAF.
It consists of FAA, airframe makers, and aircraft engine makers.
Honda is the first Asian company to participate.
Boeing, Airbus, Dassault, Embraer, De Havilland, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Sikorsky, General Electric (GE), Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, Honeywell, Safran
SAF test data review:
Honda will review the test data of the newly developed SAF with other participating companies.
By evaluating safety and supporting standardization, we will contribute to the spread of SAF.
Honda power unit development:
“Development of an electric power unit for eVTOL that utilizes a gas turbine” is underway.
Gas turbines for eVTOL:
“Power generated by a gas turbine, not battery-powered” is stored in the battery.
By making it a series hybrid, the cruising range will be extended more than four times.
We are also researching carbon-neutral fuels to replace fossil fuels.

Examen des données de test SAF :
Honda examinera les données de test du SAF nouvellement développé avec d’autres sociétés participantes.
En évaluant la sécurité et en soutenant la normalisation, nous contribuerons à la diffusion du SAF.
Développement de l’unité de puissance Honda :
“Le développement d’une unité d’alimentation électrique pour eVTOL qui utilise une turbine à gaz” est en cours.
Turbines à gaz pour eVTOL :
La “puissance générée par une turbine à gaz, non alimentée par batterie” est stockée dans la batterie.
En en faisant un hybride de série, la gamme de croisière sera étendue plus de quatre fois.
Nous recherchons également des carburants neutres en carbone pour remplacer les carburants fossiles.

Überprüfung der SAF-Testdaten:
Honda wird die Testdaten des neu entwickelten SAF mit anderen teilnehmenden Unternehmen überprüfen.
Durch die Bewertung der Sicherheit und die Unterstützung der Standardisierung tragen wir zur Verbreitung von SAF bei.
Entwicklung des Honda-Triebwerks:
“Die Entwicklung einer elektrischen Antriebseinheit für eVTOL, die eine Gasturbine nutzt”, ist im Gange.
Gasturbinen für eVTOL:
„Strom, der von einer Gasturbine erzeugt wird, nicht batteriebetrieben“ wird in der Batterie gespeichert.
Durch den Serienhybrid wird die Reichweite um mehr als das Vierfache verlängert.
Außerdem forschen wir an CO2-neutralen Kraftstoffen, um fossile Brennstoffe zu ersetzen.
