Alaska Permanent Fund Banking on Denali IPO .

The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC), through its finder Crestline Investors, invested in a number of pharmaceutical companies including Juno Therapeutics.

APFC invested in several rounds in South San Francisco-based Denali Therapeutics, essentially controlling a 26.5 percent stake in the company.

Mubadala puts R&D front and center with multi-million AED commitment .

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Mubadala has today announced plans for its Aerospace, Renewables & ICT platform to invest a further AED 82.5M in Research and Development (R&D) over the next five years.

The funding will be used to accelerate several innovative technology development projects that focus on differentiating concepts from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including 3D printing, digital manufacturing and advanced materials.

Abu Dhabi-UAE: Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi’s strategic investment company, today announced a collaboration with IBM at the Dubai Airshow, to develop smart systems that support manufacturing facilities, predictive technology and service optimization in the aviation sector.

Just ahead of the Airshow, Mubadala and IBM discussed the terms of the collaboration that will benefit Strata Manufacturing (Strata), the advanced composite aerostructures manufacturing facility in Al Ain, and Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S), a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul provider for aircraft engines—two wholly owned Mubadala businesses.
