TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 3, 2017 — BAE Systems has teamed with Cranfield University in the U.K. to develop a conceptual hybrid unmanned aerial vehicle that could shift between rotary-wing and fixed-wing modes and work with different launch and recovery settings, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The company said Friday the Adaptable UAV concept is the result of work with a BAE Systems Strategic University Partner and is designed to adapt to future battlefield scenarios, such as those in crowded and dangerous environments.
