Japan: Supporting new virus in China: Foreign Affairs Dep’t: Shun Yi Hua

Japan: Support for China

“Spring Festival” ends on February 10.

Japan’s “Support for the whole China/new virus” is gathering one after another.

During Chinese New Year holidays:

January 25: Panasonic

Northeast China China donated 1 million yuan (approximately 15.5 million yen) to the Chinese Red Cross Society to purchase masks, protective clothing and protective glasses. Matsushita Electric is one of the earliest Chinese companies to donate to Wuhan.

January 29: Toyota Motor

Toyota Motor (China) Co., Ltd. group (Toyota Motor) to the Chinese Red Cross Society for 10 million yuan (approximately 155 million yen)

January 31: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (China) Investment Corporation (Honda) also donated 10 million yuan to Hubei Red Cross Society.

February 5: Fujifilm

Fujifilm Group donated 7 million yuan (110 million yen) / medical equipment and printer to Wuhan City Hospital. “Additional equipment will arrive in February,” said a spokeswoman for the company.

Japan’s humanitarian assistance:

From a humanitarian perspective, a Japanese company was the first to donate and support.

This is evidence that Japanese companies consider China to be important both as a production base and as a consumer.

China’s Foreign Affairs Department: spokeswoman Hua Chun Ying

Chinese Foreign Affairs spokesman Hua Chun Ying has repeatedly expressed  gratitude to Japan at press conferences at home and abroad.
