起亚汽车将在现代汽车之后召回中国的电动汽车

由于零件故障，该公司将在中国召回其首款电动汽车（EV）型号KX3（韩国市场的Seltos）。
起亚的召回是继其姊妹公司现代汽车之后，
对现代汽车集团在中国市场的品牌形象受到打击表示关注。
Dongfeng Yueda Kia, Kia’s Chinese joint venture,
recently submitted a plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) to recall 309 KX3 EVs
due to the possible malfunctioning of the integrated electronic brakes (IEB) systems.
The KX3 EV
is Kia’s first electric vehicle model released in the Chinese market in 2018.
This model has been found to have safety risks due to faulty IEB software, which makes its brake pedal heavy when the brake warning lamp is illuminated.
Kia Motors plans to recall the model and fix the software.
Although Kia will recall a small number of units, the recall
is expected to inevitably hurt the brand images of Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors in China where their sales remain sluggish.
