Tokyo, Nov. 7–Toshiba Corp. <6502> said Saturday that it has filed a 300-million-yen damages lawsuit against five former executives, including three who served as presidents of the major Japanese machinery maker, over an accounting fraud at the company.The three former presidents are Hisao Tanaka, Norio Sasaki and Atsutoshi Nishida. Tokyo, Nov. 6 –Tokyo Motor Corp. <7203> said Friday it will stop using in its vehicles Takata Corp.’s <7312> air bags that use ammonium nitrate inflators.The decision was clarified by Toyota President Akio Toyoda at a press conference in Tokyo. Tokyo, Nov. 6 (Jiji Press)–Mitsui Fudosan Co. <8801> and Asahi Kasei Corp. <3407> on Friday announced their earnings estimates for the current business year to next March without fully taking into account the impact of an unfolding condominium data falsification scandal.
Both companies said it is difficult to make rational estimates at the moment on the effects of the scandal, which involves condominiums sold by Mitsui Fudosan Residential Co., a Mitsui Fudosan subsidiary, and centers on Asahi Kasei Construction Materials, an Asahi Kasei unit that falsified piling work data.

Takata Corp. <7312>Takata Suffers Net Loss Due to Defective Air Bags

Tokyo, Nov. 6 –Major Japanese auto parts maker Takata Corp. <7312> said Friday that it suffered a group net loss of 5,577 million yen in April-September, due chiefly to costs related to its defective air bags.
In the first half of fiscal 2015, Takata booked a special loss of 18.1 billion yen, including a civil penalty worth 8.5 billion yen imposed by U.S. authorities for the maker’s failure to promptly recall defective air bags that resulted in an increase in fatal rupture cases involving the safety equipment.

For the first half of the current business year, Itochu marked a record group net profit of 212.7 billion yen, up 39.8 pct from a year earlier, thanks to sharp growth in its non-resources businesses amid commodity market slumps.
