MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”, President: Yasuyoshi Karasawa) has decided to
acquire approx. 6.3% of the outstanding shares of Challenger Limited (“Challenger”, listed on the Australian
Securities Exchange), an Australian financial services company which has a life insurance business and funds
management business, through the subscription of new shares in Challenger to be issued through an allotment
by Challenger
