JAXA Starts Drone Test in ISS Tokyo, July 14 (Jiji Press)–The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, of JAXA, said Friday it has started the test use of a spherical drone inside Japan’s Kibo experiment module of the International Space Station. In the ISS, astronauts take videos of their work and experiments and send them to the ground control center. The video recording, including preparations, is said to deprive the spacemen of 10 pct of their working hours. The drone, called Int-Ball, was made to take over the task of recording jobs. With 12 small propellers, the 15-centimeter-diameter, one-kilogram drone can move in any direction and take both still and moving images with a high-resolution camera. JIJI PRESS
